Christ was not calling his persecutors insane when he said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing".  Christ was exposing the very nature of Satan in this prayer.  Christ's persecutors were totally confused, since they doubted that his birth was good enough to be Messiah.  The fundamental product of doubt is confusion.  Confusion is a tool Satan uses to defeat his competition.  Why would Satan want to defeat his competition?  Satan above all wants to be worshiped the MOST.  Satan wants you to worship him as God's greatest creation.  Satan knows that God can destroy him, and God knows that something would only take his place.  Have you ever heard the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.  Evil is evil, so Christ defeated Evil with Love.  Love is so amazing and I am so grateful to have experienced it on Earth, thus I can't wait to experience it in Heaven.  The numbers do matter, this is how Jesus Christ defeated Satan.  More are drawn to Christ or Love than to Satan or evil.

Step one in Satan's game is to foster doubt.  He did this with Judas.  He planted the seed of doubt that Jesus Christ was not the messiah.  Judas desired personal wealth and prestige which were not being met.  So, he did what he had to do.  Confused he killed himself. What other animal on Earth will make a plan to kill itself?  Since most people who kill themselves do so when know one else is around to stop them, therefore suicide is most often a planed event.  Satan's game concerns who should be worshiped the most.  Satan is the Father of ruthlessness.  Can the son be anymore ruthless than the father?  Satan does not want those who seek self glorification to see this, since Satan knows that with his game he is the predetermined victor.  In Hell there is no Love.  Jesus Christ did not play Satan's game and that is why Christ defeated Satan at Calvary.

On Earth, my faith in Christ is what I rest on for understanding of Heaven.  Earthly death produces doubt of eternal control.  Reconciliation is how Jesus played the game and defeated Satan on Calvary.  When faced with a severe punishment, reconciliation concerns bringing back together the one responsible for giving the punishment and the one receiving the punishment by a peace offering.  For example, you are a drug addict and stole thousands of dollars from your parents,  because of this they no longer have money to give you an inheritance, since they have two other offspring.  However, they continue to give you small gifts so that you know that they still love you.  However the punishment your parents put in place for your actions remains.  In our case God gives us Jesus Christ as the peace offering.  Death is a harsh punishment, thus reconciliation is what Christ gives us.  Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.  This means Christ is willing to glorify those who believe in him.  This means that Christ cares about you and will listen to your needs.   How does Christ play the game?  Christ wants you to experience unification with God.  Jesus Christ denied himself personal glorification on Earth, so that we could see that he desires to remember us and share his love with us.  This is why Jesus Christ is Lord and the Son of God; his greatest creation.  The Son of God has reunited us with the Father.  Moreover in truth there is no doubt, thus the product of truth is the absence of confusion.  Christ exposed the very nature of Satan in this prayer.  Christ's persecutors were totally confused, since they doubted that his birth was good enough to be Messiah.
